HEIC to JPG converter
Turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG files that open on any computer, phone or website. Your photos never leave your device.
Lower means smaller files. 70–80% is hard to tell from the original.
Images are only ever made smaller, never enlarged. Aspect ratio is kept.
Why convert
When to turn HEIC into JPG
iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. HEIC files need about half the space of JPG at the same quality, but many Windows computers, Android phones, websites and upload forms can’t open them.
Converting to JPG makes your photos work everywhere. TinyPixr does it on your own device, which matters for personal photos: they are never uploaded to a server.
Good to know
- Photos are turned the right way up, and the iPhone’s wide Display P3 colors are converted to standard sRGB, so they look right on every screen.
- The JPG is usually larger than the HEIC, because HEIC compresses photos about twice as efficiently.
- Details such as location, camera and date taken are not copied into the JPG.
- Safari opens HEIC by itself. Other browsers first download a small HEIC decoder (about 0.5 MB, only once).
Need a different format, or several at once? The image converter handles JPG, PNG and WebP in any direction, and the compressor makes files smaller without changing their format.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the JPG bigger than the HEIC photo?
HEIC uses a newer compression method that needs about half the space for the same quality. JPG is older but works everywhere. For smaller JPG files, lower the quality a little: around 80% still looks great for photos.
How do I stop my iPhone from saving HEIC?
Open Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose "Most Compatible". New photos are then saved as JPG. Photos you already took stay HEIC, so convert those here.
Is the photo’s location removed?
Yes. TinyPixr doesn’t copy details such as GPS location, camera model or the date taken into the JPG. That is good for privacy when you share photos; keep the original if you want to keep that information.
What about Live Photos?
A Live Photo is a HEIC photo plus a short video file. TinyPixr converts the photo; the video part isn’t included.
Are my images uploaded?
No. TinyPixr converts images in your browser, on your own device. They are never sent to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes. Add as many images as you like, by dragging them in or choosing them, then download them one by one or all together as a ZIP file.
